Whānau Ora Community Clinic was established in 2014 from a policy developed by the government which focused on Family Well-being or Whānau Ora. The founder of the organisation George Ngatai and his wife wanted to show NZ families what the principal factors of Whānau Ora was all about. Since then this organisation has established many across the country.
Social and health services are provided in six towns and cities across New Zealand. Every practice has access to a doctor or nurse practitioner, a nurse, a social worker, a counselor, a community lawyer or a whanau navigator who are there to assist where they can. If a practice does not have one these, staff on site will be able to contact one.
