To develop this startegy, a series of two-day wānanga have been held across the motu in early 2023.

These wānanga reaffirm hauora aspirations and whakaaro shared previously, plus will add any additional hauora Māori priorities, opportunities or issues to achieve pae ora, healthy futures for all New Zealanders.

A huge mihi to everybody who supported and contributed to these wānanga:

  • Northern Regional Wānanga – 9 Feb to 10 Feb 2023 (Whangārei)
  • Te Manawa Taki Regional Wānanga – 21 Feb to 22 Feb 2023 (Kirikiriroa Hamilton)
  • Central Regional Wānanga – 7 Mar to 8 Mar 2023 (Te Whanganui-a-Tara Wellington)
  • Te Waipounamu Regional Wānanga – 10 Mar to 11 Mar 2023 (Ōtepoti Dunedin)

These wānanga have been the first opportunity to meet kanohi ki te kanohi with iwi, whānau and the Māori health sector since COVID-19. (external link)
